While on our way to tighten up a property for an incoming guest visit on a rather chilly overcast day, my colleague Josh and I stopped in to the Murrells Inlet location of Millstone Biscuit Co. I had previously been referred to this breakfast and lunch spot by my wife who had visited several times. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by the restaurant owner, Scott Ray informed us that the city had accidentally knocked out the water main and internet to the restaurant. Instead of sending us on our way though, he invited us inside to provide what items they could despite the challenge this posed. Josh ordered a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit and I grabbed one of my favorites, buffalo chicken.
The biscuits arrived quickly and we were both amazed at how soft and warm they were, giving us that comfort like a warm blanket that only a hot and tasty meal can provide on a cold day winter's day. After first bites, here were our reflections:
Josh: "This is the probably the best biscuit I have had since I was a kid!"
Me: "The buffalo chicken patty is so crispy and fluffy and perfectly cooked and its not greasy either. It even has legit Buffalo sauce on it, not that fake butter stuff that most places pass off as buffalo sauce".
Adding to this, we were able to secure the last 2 cups of hot coffee on hand, which definitely helped us out for our cold weather outdoor preparation activities.
Bottom line, if you want a delicious breakfast at a reasonable price, Millstone is your spot! They also have some great looking lunch options and have another location in Pawley's Island.
As Always,
Buon Appetito!
